Cancellation policies vary from each air charter operator. In many instances, if the crew has not been called out, and if the aircraft has not left it base, there is a good chance that a cancellation penalty will not be charged. Some air charter operators have a 24 or 48 hour cancellation penalty which can range from a two hour minimum on the aircraft or 50% to 100% of the cost of the air charter.
On large airliners, cancellation policies can incur from the time you sign the contract and escalate as the departure date nears. Typically these can range from 25% within 90 days, 50% within 60 days and 100% 30 days out. The reason these cancellation charges are so high, is that once you book the aircraft, it is taken off the market for that time allotted for your air charter, and it is insurance they will make money on the aircraft if it flies or not.
If you think there is a chance that you may have to cancel the air charter, please notify us, and we will do everything possible to minimize the charge. However, the air charter operator has the final say.
